How Can Daily Play Rate Go Faster and Slower?

Your song's daily streaming velocity on Spotify can fluctuate based on only 2 factors:

Changed Position in Current Playlists

When your track moves higher up in a playlist (closer to position 1), it gets more plays. When it moves lower down, play rate decreases. Top 10 positions typically receive 60-80% of all playlist streams.

IMPACT EXAMPLE:

Position 5 → Position 2 = +300% daily plays

Position 10 → Position 25 = -70% daily plays
